What version of LANDESK are you using?
Re: wscfg32.exe not found?
Re: wscfg32.exe not found?
LDMS 9.6 SP1
Re: wscfg32.exe not found?
Make sure you have the core server configured as a Preferred Server. If you do have the core server configured as a preferred server it does seem to me that I have heard of users having issues with this in 9.6 due to an issue with a Preferred Server bug and they have had to use the "Use self-contained client.... " option in the Install Agent task but I cant find the details now. I will keep looking.
Re: wscfg32.exe not found?
I found it;
LANDesk Agent Install step fails while OS Provisioning
I thought that this was supposed to be fixed in SP2 but I cannot find any detail about it in the readme. I havent tested it yet either.

Is it possible to add a device to a group with an agent deployment?
When a new device is added using and agent deployment, is it possible to assign it to a predefined group instead of just going to all devices?
Regards
Re: Is it possible to add a device to a group with an agent deployment?
Any device will ALWAYS be in All Devices, as that is the collection of everything.
I assume you want it automatically in a custom group, but this is not possible... That is always a manual action. That's why the preferred method is to use queries that are basically groups that are dynamically created. You can use LDAP or Agent Name or anything to determine 'group' membership.

Thank you Frank, that worked just fine, and it also introduced me to a new concept, queries.
Manual/forced Agent update when using CSA
If I understand correctly the update will happen at the next scheduled time set in the agent configuration.
Is there a way to for an update when the client is connected via the CSA?
I created a task to re-deploy the agent, it completed successfully in my local machines but it failed in all remote (CSA) clients with the error "Unable to contact specified machine...", wouldn't these machine be on Pending until the Client gets the request? if this is not the case because the task itself technically failed, how can I update the agent (CSA)?
Thank you.
Re: Manual/forced Agent update when using CSA
There are a couple things you have to take into consideration here:
1) the task will fail as a push, you must use policy and/or policy supported push for the task
2) When the client does get the task it may never return a successful return because the agent that is tasked with the job is being removed and replaced by the new agent
Re: Manual/forced Agent update when using CSA
Thanks JonnyB, this pointed me to the right direction.
I found this tread where StephenEade provides a great explanation.
Best.
getting 'unauthorized' when I try to log into workspace
We have a LDMS 9.6 SP1 install that I installed workspace on. No matter what user I try, I get an 'unauthorized' message.
There were some suggested changes to IIS in the install documentation however, they were for an earlier version of IIS, our server is on 2012R2.
Any suggestions?
Difference between Policy.Sync.exe and PolicySync.exe
Hello Folks,
Just a silly question here, I am using agent health script on 9.6 SP2 agents and it shows fail saying that Policy.Sync.exe not found. After checking machine I found only PolicySync.exe.
So just wanted to check if Policy.Sync.exe got replaced with PolicySync.exe or I am missing this on my machines. Would be also great to know critical process on client machines in 9.6 SP2 so to check agent health.
Thanks,
Praveen
Re: Difference between Policy.Sync.exe and PolicySync.exe
Praveen,
Policy.Sync.exe was changed to PolicySync.exe in 9.6, not sure if it was 9.6 or 9.6 SP1.
Re: getting 'unauthorized' when I try to log into workspace
lanman1,
What user are you authenticating with? Did you set up the DNS text record or are you inputting that information manually?
Re: Difference between Policy.Sync.exe and PolicySync.exe
Darrensk, is correct, the exe was changed in 9.6. As for why it is looking for Policy.Sync.exe, I am not sure. What version are your clients? As far as i know, the Agent Health definitions only work on the current version of the LDMS software you are running. For example, you are on 9.6 SP2 so your agent health definitions would only work on 9.6 SP2 clients.
Re: getting 'unauthorized' when I try to log into workspace
We have tried domain admin(also a landesk admin) and domain users(landesk admins). Yes we created the TXT record. We also now have an open case with LanDesk that has be escalated but no responses in several days.
Re: Difference between Policy.Sync.exe and PolicySync.exe
I am using a VB script to check agent health through GPO, hence its checking for old Policy.Sync.exe as it was used for old version and downloaded from community.
